Kaje was founded in December 2020 with double bass and violone player Lassi Kari. It focuses on combining acoustic instruments with synthesizers and live-electronics to search for fresh sounds and directions in contemporary music. Kaje balances between composed and improvised music and brings in influences from a wide spectrum of musical styles from baroque and free jazz to noise and spectral music. In March 2021 Kaje released the first album in a series consisting of improvised music. Besides working continuously as a duo, Kaje also collaborates with like-minded musicians and artists on a regular basis.
